Are you healthy? Do you have aches and pain?
                           

No one can go through life without any physical pain. However, if you have chronic and persistent body pain, then you are NOT healthy.

Physical pain may be due to physical injury, inflammation, or an organic disease (see below).

Regular exercise and physical activity can avoid pain due to physical injury. Physical health is avoiding physical pain.

To optimize physical health, use diet to avoid inflammation to prevent many different types of pain.

Eat more pain-safe foods that do not trigger any pain. These pain-safe foods include: brown rice; cooked or dried fruits (not citrus fruits), apples, bananas, and peaches; cooked green, orange, and yellow vegetables (not tomatoes). These foods enhance physical health.

Avoid foods that may cause inflammation: dairy products, citrus fruits, meats, organ meats, corn and wheat, and chocolate. Stop smoking and reduce alcohol consumption (especially beer). Control your intake of iron (donating blood to unload excess iron from your body).

Eat more anti-inflammatory foods for better physical health: beans, ginger, vegetables, flaxseed oil, wheat germ and walnut oils.

Choose a diet low in animal fat: always go for whole foods, not processed foods, for physical health.

Your body weight is important to your physical health because it determines your body shape, which is a reflection of your physical health. Overweight is a serious health issue that affects your physical health

According to studies, your body shape is indicative of your heart health.
ˇ If you body shape is that of an apple (i.e. with extra weight in the midsection) you may have a propensity for diabetes, high blood pressure, and stroke. In a beer belly, abdominal fat is more easily converted into cholesterol, and hence affecting heart health.

ˇ A waistline of 35 inches or more for women, and a waistline of 40 inches or more for men indicate an increased health risk for developing chronic diseases and disorders.
ˇ Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is your body weight in pounds divided by body weight in inches multiplied by 703 = BMI - that is, your BMI = (body weight in pounds) divided by (body height in inches x body weight in inches) multiplied by (703). To illustrate, if you are 5'11" tall and you weigh 165 pounds, your BMI will be: (165/71x71) x 703 = 23.

A Body Mass Index of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, while 30 or above is considered obese.
