Pain is not a disease in and of itself, but it does age you just the same. Pain is a subjective experience of an individual. Pain is often a warning that an underlying condition is not in order, or a direct result of an injury.
Pain comes in different forms: physical pain due to injury, inflammation, or an organic disease; emotional or psychological pain due to emotional hurt, grief, or depression.

TIPS & SUGGESTIONS
What to do to stop the pain?
What to eat?
Environmental toxic chemicals and metals create free radicals that damage tissues and nerves.
Are there alternative pain management therapies?
Wherever possible, do not use pharmaceutical drugs to stop the pain.
Hippocrates, the father of medicine, once said: "As to diseases, make a habit of two things -- to help, or at least to do no harm."
So, do no harm: avoid pharmaceutical drugs, which are both dangerous and toxic. For all minor pain, do not readily reach out for over-the-counter drugs.
Eat pain-safe foods that do not trigger any pain. These foods include: brown rice; cooked or dried fruits (not citrus fruits), apples, bananas, and peaches; cooked green, orange, and yellow vegetables (not tomatoes).
Eat meals that heal inflammation.
Avoid processed foods, which are loaded with chemicals and additivies. Go organic and eat whole foods. Stay away from farm-raised fish and seafood.
Detoxify your body of heavy toxic metals on a regular basis.

Acupuncture is an ancient practice developed by the Chinese centuries ago for relieving pain. In acupuncture, fine needles are inserted into the skin at strategic points to facilitate energy flow (known as "qi") through meridian channels between the surface of the body and internal organs. Acupuncture is now a recognized alternative pain management treatment in modern medicine.
Aromatherapy uses essential oils of herbs and medicinal plants to treat pain. Natural aromas are all around you - they influence not only your moods but also your health.
Herbal therapy employes parts of plants (seed, stem, flower, root, bark, leaf) for pain management; it is the earliest known form of pain management medicine.
Are mind therapies effective in pain management?
The mind controls the body, including its perception of pain.
In hypnosis or hypnotherapy, the state of consciousness is deliberately altered through concentration on a single image or thought.

Hydrotherapy uses water to treat aches and pain, as well as disease and rehabilitation. It harnesses the healing power of water through immersion in warm or cold water to induce or reduce blood flow.
Visualization uses strong mental images to overcome pain and heal the body. Research has shown that visualization not only can control the mind through visualization but is capable of strengthening your body's immune system. Find out more details from Creative Visualization.
