Sit comfortably.

Place one hand on your upper chest and the other on your abdomen. Try to breathe such that only your lower hand moves.

Now, place both hands on your abdomen below the ribs. Inhale slowly through your nose. Your abdomen should rise as your diaphragm moves downward.

Hold for a few seconds. Then, exhale slowly through your nose. Notice your abdomen fall as your diaphragm relaxes.
